. The Cane Creek (North Carolina) Quaker records indicate that Solomon married contrary to discipline in 1784 and was disciplined again in 1786 so that doesn't jibe with Samuel's year of birth (1779) or place of birth (South Carolina or Tennessee). Based on the distaff maiden names and the names given to the children, I think it's a good bet that Samuel is related to the Chatham County Quaker Dixon family but maybe through another member - maybe Joseph Dixon's brother Solomon (uncle to this Solomon?)

- 4. Unknown (m) Dixon: b. 1786-1787 probably in Chatham Co., NC; d. after 1790

- 4. Unknown (f) Dixon: b. 1795-1800 probably in Chatham Co., NC; d. after 1810
Note: The 1790, 1800, 1810, and 1820 censuses list a Solomon/Sol Dickson/Dixon in Chatham County, NC and it seems likely to be this Solomon - if so, then he might have had children born before 1790.
