Elizabeth McDowell; The fourth of eight children born to Capt. James McDowell and Elizabeth Loughead, Elizabeth was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania about 1771 to 1773, probably in or near Oxford township. By 1775, James had built the home and store in what is now Lincoln Station so that was the home in which she grew up. She married Captain John Campbell of the Maryland Eastern Shore (Kent county?) about 1800 and they had six children. Elizabeth died in 1834 in her early sixties. The Campbells relocated to Mississippi and they lived in the south for most of the 19th century. I have not met any living descendants but they probably exist.

Children of John and Elizabeth Campbell include: Robert C. Campbell: married Celeste Brooks and Mary E. W. Robinson and he had nine children and has many descendants David Campbell: Born in 1802 and died in 1829, unmarried. Isabella A. Campbell: married Dr. William Mills and their only child died at age five. Anna Elizabeth Campbell married John I. Wilson and they had two children. Frances J. Campbell married Philip C. Wallis and they had three children. James Campbell died at the age of two.
