Frank Pusey - One of the active mushroom producers of Chester County, E. Frank Pusey of West Grove, Pennsylvania, is an interested citizen of his community, as well as being active in the neighboring cities and towns, both as a business man and as a member of various organizations and clubs. "E. Frank Pusey was born at Avondale, Chester County, Pennsylvania, on December 14, 1904, a son of Elwood K. and Mignonette (Coates) Pusey. Elwood K. Pusey, who was born at London Grove, Pennsylvania, was a mushroom producer and a manufacturer of pork products and ice, triple interests which held his attention until his death on January 6, 1930, at West Grove. Mignonette (Coates) Pusey, his wife, who was born at Londonderry, Chester County, died in 1918. "After attending the public schools of West Grove, E. Frank Pusey completed his formal education at the George School, at Newtown, Pennsylvania, and then joined his father, Elwood K. Pusey, in the production of mushrooms, a company for that purpose being formed under the name of E. K. Pusey & Sons. Upon the death of Elwood K. Pusey in 1930, E. Frank Pusey took over the mushroom business and has conducted it under his own name through the present time, his production plant being established in London Grove Township. A member of the Friends Meeting at Penn's Grove, Mr. Pusey, who belongs to the Republican party politically, centers his community interests in the West Grove and Avondale Rotary Club, an organization of which he is a past president. Mr. Pusey is also active in Masonry, his memberships, in the fraternity's bodies including New London Lodge, No. 545, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, of which he is a Past Master, and Kennett Square Chapter, Royal Arch Masons. Finding in outdoor sports a means of recreation from his business responsibilities, Mr. Pusey is a particularly ardent fan of baseball and football. "E. Frank Pusey married on May 11, 1934, Lulu Watkin of Avondale, a daughter of Nathaniel R. and Philena (Husbands) Watkin. Mr. and Mrs. Pusey are the parents of two children: 1. E. Franklin, Jr., who was born on February 1, 1936. 2. John W., who was born on June 25, 1939."
